How to Install Presets in Lightroom Mobile App
These are the general rules to help you install presets in Lightroom mobile app:
- Get DNG files to use as your presets.
- Open the Lightroom app.
- Select the icon to import new photos.
- Locate your DNG files and click “Add”.
- Click on the 3 dots in the upper-right corner.
- Select “Create Preset”.
- Fill in the name and save it.
1. Get DNG files to use as your presets
If you don’t have your presets yet, there are many places you can get them from. For example, official Adobe Lightroom membership, online shops that sell presets (such as Etsy or Amazon), individual people, or you can purchase directly from photographers who edit pictures themselves.
There are also places to get free Lightroom presets but be cautious since there might be viruses. Remember, Lightroom Presets for mobile app should always be in DNG format.
2. Open the Lightroom app
You can download the app from the App store or Google Play store. What I like the most – the app is free of charge and you don’t need to have an Adobe account or pay for anything to use the Lightroom app.
3. Select the icon to import new photos
Once you’ve opened the Lightroom app, you will see two icons in the bottom-right corner. One icon is for adding pictures, the other one is for taking photos right away. Choose the one for adding pictures from your album.
4. Locate your DNG files and click “Add”
Now you’ll need to locate your DNG files on your phone. You should find them in your Downloads folder, gallery, or files folder. You might need to upload presets one by one, or all together at once, it depends on your phone and where these files are. After you’ve selected the presets, press “ADD”.
5. Click on the 3 dots in the upper-right corner
Select one of the DNG photo files. It is usually a picture with a preset name on it. When you’ve opened it, click on the three dots in the upper-right corner above the picture.
6. Select “Create Preset”
You’ll see some options in the drop-down menu, select “Create Preset”.
7. Fill in the name and save it
Name the preset either by the original name or anything to your liking. Usually, it’s something like “Soft warm”, “Vibrant yellow”, “Boho vibes” etc. Very important to note – don’t check or uncheck any boxes.
Where to get Lightroom presets for Mobile?
Presets will definitely save A LOT of your time and will make photo editing without effort. You don’t want to risk it with sketchy websites and sellers. The question is – where to download good presets?
Here’s a list of some places to download Lightroom Mobile presets.
Etsy
Etsy is probably one of the most popular places where you can purchase your Lightroom presets. There are many sellers you can choose from and prices vary from $0.25 to $29. The average price is around $3 for a preset package, which usually consists of 5-15 presets. There are also more expensive choices, like $250 for a 1000 preset bundle.
As a photographer I have also created many presets that I used (and still using) to edit my own photos, you can check them out on my Etsy page.
Amazon
Amazon is also a great place to get Mobile Lightroom presets for a decent price. Prices might be higher than on Etsy – starting from $3.99 for a pack of 4 presets they can go up to $9.99. Though the selection is rather limited.
Adobe
Having a Lightroom account gives you access to Premium Adobe presets. You can test these presets using Discover tab. This tab is a new feature where you can see raw and edited photos submitted by other users and save them.
In order to access all these perks, you need to have a Lightroom subscription.
Creative Market
As they say themselves – world’s marketplace for design. You can find many presets created by various photographers. Prices vary from $9 to $150.
Although all products are protected with copyrights, you will also need to purchase a commercial license if you’re looking for presets for commercial use.
Examples of use
Presets can be a powerful tool to make your photos stand out. If you haven’t tried them yet, here are some before and after examples of my own presets:

When i do this en want to use the preset in LLmobile i get the message: partially incompatible presets. What can i do different so i don’t get this message?
L.
Hi,
I believe this message might appear when you try to apply a preset that uses features or settings not supported by your current version of Lightroom or your specific photo’s attributes (like, for example, availability for certain cameras). Hope you’ll manage to fix this issue, good luck!
